#ShopSmall With Us

an Editorial by Mysi Girdlestone, Editor

             Shop Local

Someone shared this on Facebook the other day and it really had an impact on me. I thought I would share it with you. This Saturday, November 24th is Small Business Saturday. I want to encourage you to do everything you can to shop with small businesses in Eagle and the surrounding communities. Not only is it so important for the survival of our community but I appreciate the convenience of not having to driving to Lincoln for something I need. As a family we also look for opportunities to support other surrounding small communities before we look at activities in Lincoln/Omaha. That is why I feel it is important in each week's newsletter to include the surrounding area events. We have found so many fun things to do in small towns that we wouldn't even know about if it wasn't for this weekly resource. If you go to the top of this site there is a business tab that will show you info for some of the local businesses (if you see anything that needs to be added or updated please email me at editor@eaglenebraska.com). I thought I would give you an example some of small businesses that our family utilizes in town:

~We eat a Bailey's Local
~I bought my car from Reynoldson Motors
~We get our insurance from Midwest Insurance
~I have had tea and gotten cute gifts at Patina Joe
~Our family gets our taxes done at Mary's Tax Service
~We just had family pics taken by Luxury Images Photography
~My husband and I get car repairs and oil changes done at Eagle Automotive
~And, of course, I use Shakeology and Beachbody on Demand from my own Team Beachbody Business to stay healthy

There are so many on the list above that we haven't had a chance to utilize yet but will do as we can or if the need arises. So this holiday season, I would encourage you to be intentional about where you are spending your money. If you can't find what you need locally and need to go to Amazon consider using Amazon Smile and put Eagle PTE (Parents and Teachers of Eagle) as the organization you support. That way you can help the kids at Eagle Elementary with a percentage of your purchase CLICK HERE. Let's help the Village and the surrounding towns continue to grow.
