News from Village of Eagle: BOIL WATER ORDER
Date: Aug 12, 2019
Due to the possibility of unsafe water, all Village of Eagle water customers are directed to immediately start BOILING ALL DRINKING WATER taken from the public water system. This includes water for drinking, making ice cubes, washing foods, brushing teeth, or any other activity involving consumption of water.
Water should be boiled to a full, rolling boil for at least 5 mintues to ensure that it is safe for consumption. Boiled water may be stored at room temperature or refrigerated in a closed container until needed.
This order shall remain in effect until further notice!
Be advised that the west side of Eagle is currently without water due to a break in the water main. Service will be restored as soon as possible.
People of Eagle
Meet Joe Gerteisen
I have decided to start a new section in the Eagle Newsletter each week. It will be featuring a person in our community. I feel like sometimes we can get so stuck in our own world that we don't get to know the people that we see every day. You know how I feel about volunteers and small business owners so I am sure I will be featuring several of those but there are no "special" qualifications to be featured. I want us all to get to know our neighbors.

Joe moved his family to Eagle, NE on a foggy Christmas Eve in 1986. It was the day before his youngest son, Bryce, was born. The Village looked at lot different back then. As Bryce grew up, Joe volunteered with his cub scout troup.
Because of his love of the outdoors he and a friend started mowing yards years ago. It was slow going in the beginning but he started Bag's O' Grass Custom Lawns in 1998. This past year he decided to semi-retire and focus only on the aeration/fertilizing portion of the business. Joe spent a several winters as an over the road truck driver seeing a lot of our amazing country. He recently took a vacation to Florida to see family that he hasn't been able to see in years.
When he is not helping people make their yards healthy he enjoys fishing, hunting, collecting coins, and hanging out with his grandchildren (and 1 great grandchild).
*I need your help...If you know of someone in our amazing community that should be featured please email me at editor@eaglenebraska.com so I can reach out to them. TIA!
