Meet Editor Mysi Girdlestone
I have decided to start a new section in the Eagle Newsletter each week. It will be featuring a person in our community. I feel like sometimes we can get so stuck in our own world that we don't get to know the people that we see every day. You know how I feel about volunteers and small business owners so I am sure I will be featuring several of those but there are no "special" qualifications to be featured. I want us all to get to know our neighbors.
I thought it may be a good idea before we got too far into the new section to take a week to reintroduce myself for all the new people that have subscribed since I started doing the newsletter over 6 years ago.
My name is Mysi Girdlestone. I moved to Eagle in 9th grade and graduated from Waverly High School back in 1990. I couldn't wait to get out of this town at that time! But in hindsight, I can see what a blessing it is to live in a small town. When my husband and I started looking for houses I knew I wanted our boys to grow up in this kind of environment. We decided to buy a house in Eagle Heights. Our boys are 7 and 9 now and in 1st and 4th grade at Eagle Elementary. I love that they will grow up knowing the same people since birth!
My favorite things to do are read, watching movies, and volunteer. I am a serial entreprenuer with my Beachbody business, Tupperware, and Pampered Chef. I work with my mom at Mary's Tax Service here in town. The plan is for me to learn everything in the next 5 years so she can eventually retire. I am a Dave Ramsey Solutions Master Financial Coach and we have incorporated those services into what she offers at the tax office.

Seeking Applicants for the Eagle Parks & Recreation Commission
Do you have an interest in parks and outdoor recreational facilities? Do you have ideas of new equipment or facilities for our local park?
The Village of Eagle is currently seeking applicants for appointment to the Parks & Recreation Commission.

Mosquito Abatement at Eagle Municipal Park
ABC Termite & Pest Control will be spraying for mosquitos on Tuesday morning, September 10th. They ask that residents stay out of the park from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.
Eagle farmers market every Thursday through August 29.

Healthy Breakfast Bars
I'm always looking for quick breakfasts for my boys in the morning as we are rushing out the door for school. They love this. You can always sub the raisins with other dried fruit, nuts, or chocolate chips. I add some cinnamon to the mix too.
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 ripe bananas
- 2 cups of oats
- 1/2 cup raisins
DIRECTIONS:
- Preheat oven to 175 degrees and grease your square baking dish with coconut oil
- Next mash up the banana well and mix with the oats and raisins
- Place the mixture in the pan and press down firmly
- Pop in the oven and bake for 15 min or until the top is brown
- Let it cool before devouring

Bailey's Local August Burger of the Month
Big Buck Burger = A Baileys Certified Beef Patty blended with Big Buck Red wine, chopped mushrooms and caramelized onions on a Brioche bun with a roasted garlic spread.
My hubby and I are doing the Ultimate Reset cleanse right now and you better believe that as soon as that is done we are gonna stop in for a treat meal and give this a try. We haven't been disappointed by one yet!
