Meet Rebecca Rezabek

I have decided to start a new section in the Eagle Newsletter each week. It will be featuring a person in our community. I feel like sometimes we can get so stuck in our own world that we don't get to know the people that we see every day. You know how I feel about volunteers and small business owners so I am sure I will be featuring several of those but there are no "special" qualifications to be featured. I want us all to get to know our neighbors.

My name is Rebecca Rezabek and I am married to Lucas Tinant (yes we do have different last names). We have 3 amazing kids (Victor 5, Charlie almost 3, and Geraldine 6 months old), 2 greyhounds (Grace & Bill), a couple of cats (Coco, Bumblebee, and Tiger), and several chickens. We moved to an acreage outside of Eagle about 8 years ago. Both my husband and I are from smaller towns (Lakeview, SD & Belden, NE) so we thought Eagle would be the perfect place to start our family. I work full time at DataBank where I manage a team of Project Managers and my husband owns Pinnacle Lawns.

After having 3 kids and volunteering what little time I have it doesn’t leave much time for hobbies, however I do enjoy playing softball & shopping. I am part of several non-profits in the community – Eagle Vision, Alvo Eagle Rec, Kindness Group of Eagle, & PTE to name a few. Lucas also volunteers his time with T-ball, Blast Ball, & Soccer. I believe that giving back to the community shouldn’t be an option and I hope by volunteering my time my kids will grow up with that same mindset.

One thing people may not know about me is that I love real estate! I currently own 4 houses and I’d love to own more! I check the market daily and have recently decided to also get my realtor license because it’s something that I enjoy doing so much. I hope to focus mainly on Eagle and promoting what an amazing town this is!

My husband’s mother is from Boston, so yes we are fans of The Patriots and Red Sox. Hate on us all you want. 😉

Seeking Applicants for the Eagle Parks & Recreation Commission

The Village of Eagle is currently seeking applicants for appointment to the Parks & Recreation Commission.

tator tot casserole

Easy Tator Tot Casserole

Ingredients:

2 lbs ground turkey
1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 lbs frozen tator tots

Directions:

Pre-heat oven to 350F.
Spray a 9x13 casserole dish with cooking spray. Open your ground turkey and press it to the bottom of the casserole dish.
Open your can of cream of mushroom soup and spread across the ground turkey.
Sprinkle the cheese on top.
Cover in aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove cover and bake an additional 15 minutes.

Anyone 60 and over are invited to lunch on Tuesdays. We are meeting at the Lutheran Church until a new or remodeled community center is built. The cost is $4. We need to know how many are coming by the day before at 9 am. She has a sign up sheet at lunch for each week so you don't have to call every week. There's a small group who stay after to play cards. Open from 9:30-2:30 pm. People younger than 60 can also eat with them, they pay a little more. Call Audrey with questions 402)332-7367.

I have mentioned wanting to start a Mom's in Prayer group District 145 in the past in this newsletter. I had reached out to find a group in this area and was shocked to find that there wasn't one. God is working and things are finally happening! Not in our time...right?

I have had the opportunity to meet with another Eagle parent, Cassidy Bohac, who is willing to help me with this. Her sister has been leading a group for 7 years now in Lincoln and we both had the opportunity this week to sit in our their meeting to learn more about how they run and what types of things they do.

I will be leading the group for Eagle Elementary. We are looking at meeting once a month initially to pray for the school and faculty. We are looking for other moms to join with us to stand together for our district. We need members in Eagle and Waverly. We also need leaders for the WIS and WHS groups. If we don't have enough members initally we may alternate meeting in Eagle or Waverly.
