Several 4-H Western Feeders 4-Her's made Thank You cards during their meeting earlier this month. The Thank you's were given to Veterans visiting the VA Hospital in Lincoln during their open house on June 15.

Registration is now open for the 2013 Schoolhouse Fiddle Camps, in the Old Avoca Schoolhouse, in Avoca, Nebraska. Deborah Greenblatt, championship fiddler, author of many fiddle collections, will help the campers get in touch with their inner fiddler. The course of study during the Schoolhouse Fiddle Camps will be designed specifically
for the individual campers who sign up.

The July Camp (Monday, July 8 - Friday, July 12) is for folks who consider
themselves intermediate or advanced. Enrollment is limited to 10 fiddlers for each week, so that everyone will get individual attention.

This summer, the Red Cross Summer of Stories campaign is helping raise awareness about the constant need for blood and encourage regular donations. As part of the campaign, all presenting donors between July 1 and 15 will be automatically entered to win one of five $3,000 American Express gift cards to help create their own summer memories. Please note that financial contributions to Red Cross disaster relief are not used for these promotions. The incentives are carefully planned and budgeted from operating budgets to help ensure blood products are available for patients at a moment’s notice.

This is a non-profit group and work to raise funds for the youth baseball/softball program for Eagle/Alvo Rec. They need as many volunteers as possible! Sign up HERE

We have several shifts to choose from. The stand will open on 6/25/13 and be open every day from approx 10:00am to 10:00pm until July 4th. Shifts run about every two hours. You have to be at least 18 years old to work at the firework stand. We will be accepting credit cards this year too! The stand will be located at the Eagle Memorial Ball Field off Hwy 34 across the street from Casey's.
