Eagle Raceway Marketing Director Position:

Seeking well versified person to seek and sell sponsorship and advertising packages, develop marketing and event strategies and promote Eagle Raceway, America’s Home Track.

Main duties include:
- Seek, sell, plan and execute sponsorship and advertising packages
- Fulfill sponsor needs
- Develop and execute yearly marketing guide and strategies while implementing social media, print, radio, press releases, etc.
- Develop sponsor/advertising/LED signage/program ads/billboard spreadsheets (Microsoft Office skills)
- Schedule radio and print
- Develop PA announcements, VIP Suite guest list, gate lists weekly
- Organize and schedule 50/50 recipients
- Organize and participate in event and intermission activities
- Seek, sell, plan and execute company outings
- Attend designated workshops for continued education (at company’s cost)

Preferably candidate would be someone with a home office that is self-disciplined, but is not mandatory.

"Plains Folk” Offers Homespun Humor and Live Music at Lofte

The Lofte Community Theatre in Manley announces that it will be showcasing an original live performance entitled, “Plains Folk: A Lofte Home Companion” on Saturday, March 28 at 7pm.

Written and performed in the style of Garrison Keillor and NPR’s popular program, “Prairie Home Companion,” “Plains Folk” is comprised of a mix of humorous recitations, toe-tapping live bands and artful storytelling. Written and performed by some of the MIdwest’s best artists including Tom Lucas of Omaha, this event has a homespun local flare fit for all ages.

The event will take place on the Lofte Community Theatre is located just outside of the town of Manley in Cass County. Tickets for the event are only $10 and can be purchased at the door or by calling the box office at 402-234-2553.

The 13th Annual Nebraska American String Teachers Association

Fiddle Tune Composition Contest

This event inspires fiddlers everywhere to compose their own tunes, and supports the cause of string education throughout the great state of Nebraska.

1st PLACE: $100.00 2nd PLACE: $50.00 3rd PLACE: $25.00

Entries must be postmarked by March 31, 2015. The winners will be announced on May 23, 2015, during the Monumental Fiddling Championship held at the Homestead National Monument in Beatrice, Nebraska. The winning compositions will be performed at the Monumental Fiddling Championship, and printed in Stringing Along, the journal of the Nebraska Chapter of the American String Teachers Association.

Contest

The 2015 Contest Rules and Guidelines:

1. Each submission should be an original composition which must be unpublished and composed after March
31, 2014.

2. Composers may submit more than one tune, but only one prize will be awarded to any one composer.

3. Four copies of the music must be submitted via computer generated sheet music, or hand-written sheet
music.

4. The composer should include their name, address, phone number, e-mail address, and the title of the piece.

5. The entry fee of $20.00 per tune should be sent in at the time of submission. Checks should be payable to Nebraska
ASTA.

6. If you wish to receive written evaluation of your tune by the judges, include a stamped, self-addressed
envelope with your entry.

7. Nebraska ASTA assumes no responsibility for loss or damage to works submitted.

8. Entries must be postmarked by March 31, 2015.

9. Send your entry to Deborah Greenblatt, The Old Schoolhouse, PO Box 671, Avoca, Nebraska,68307-0671.
The composer is responsible for keeping a copy of their work, as well as for copyrighting their tune.

10. The composer understands that if their tune is one of the winners, Nebraska ASTA has permission to have
the piece performed on May 23, 2015, in Beatrice, Nebraska, as well as permission to reprint the tune in
Stringing Along, the newsletter of Nebraska ASTA.

Greenblatt & Seay's Schoolhouse Performance Series features championship fiddler/composer, Deborah Greenblatt, in "Fiddle Fables", on Sunday, April 12, at 2:30 PM, in the Old Avoca, Nebraska Schoolhouse.

With the help of her fabulous five-string fiddle Deborah Greenblatt explores some of the trials, tribulations, and lessons that fiddlers often have in common. There is advice for the beginner (“It Starts With Your Feet”), advice for the fiddler’s families (“Have Mercy”), for the growing fiddler (“Shopping For a Fiddle Blues”), for the brave fiddler (“I’m Gonna Fiddle In a Contest”), as well as the fiddler who plays the viola (“Out of Fiddle, Out of My Mind”). There are also inspiring stories of real-life fiddlers (“Cactus Pete”), teachers (“Alice Johnson’s Jig”), and students (“Mary Ann the Fiddler”).

The concert will be downstairs, followed by light refreshments, and a chance to chat and jam with Greenblatt & Seay. Avoca is in southern Cass County, Nebraska, on the 13 C Spur, one mile south of Highway 34.

The historic Old Avoca Schoolhouse was built in 1925, and has been the home of the Schoolhouse Performance Series since 1990. Music lessons, workshops, fiddle camps, and field trips are offered by Schoolhouse residents, Greenblatt & Seay, and are available by appointment.

A Jam Session Workshop will be offered on Thursday, April 16, from 6 PM - 7:30 PM in The Old Avoca (NE) Schoolhouse. This workshop, gently guided by fiddler Deborah Greenblatt, is for acoustic musicians of any age or experience who would like a little guidance and practice in the subtle art of "jamming". In this supportive, easy-going atmosphere, players will share and exchange ideas about negotiating your way through a tune, even if you have never heard it before.

The Jam Session Workshop will have a minimum enrollment of 4, and a maximum enrollment of 10. The fee is $15.00 per musician. To sign up for the Jam Session Workshop, or for more information, e-mail Deborah Greenblatt (debby@greenblattandseay.com), or call 402-275-3221.

Fiddle Camps in Nebraska

Registration is now open for the 2015 Schoolhouse Fiddle Camps, in the Old Avoca Schoolhouse, in Avoca, Nebraska. Deborah Greenblatt, championship fiddler, author of many fiddle collections, will help the campers get in touch with their inner fiddler. The course of study during the Schoolhouse Fiddle Camps will be designed specifically for the individual campers who sign up.

The June Camp (Monday, June 15 - Friday, June 19) is for folks who consider themselves beginners. The July Camp (Monday, July 13 - Friday, July 17) is for folks who consider themselves intermediate or advanced. Enrollment is limited to 10 fiddlers for each week, so that everyone will get individual attention.
